End of an Era!

End of an Era!
Martin finally hangs up his calculator

Today marked the end of an era! After 45 years working for Simpson Wood, our colleague Martin Hoyle has retired.

Martin joined us after graduating from University in 1974 on 1 April, a date Martin always describes as very fitting! Over those years Martin has made a huge contribution to Simpson Wood and struck up good relationships with many of our clients. He has also been key in training many of our team over the years and Simpson Wood are extremely grateful.

Managing director Mark Fielding paid tribute to Martin saying “his dedication and service over the years is unlikely to be repeated and he has been instrumental in training numerous members of our team to progress in their careers both within Simpson Wood and also those who have moved into industry”

Whilst preparing to leave Martin even managed to find an old wartime ready reckoner at the back of his desk drawer.

His departure was marked by gathering his work colleagues together for a Prosecco toast and with a fabulous cake and cupcakes (thanks to Deborah!)

Everyone at the firm, past and present, plus many of our clients appreciate Martin’s contribution and wish him all the very best as he embarks on this new chapter of his life.
