We are temporarily closing our office from the end of today until the current restrictions are lifted.
Both payroll and financial services fall into the designated essential businesses and therefore we aim to continue the provision of those services in full. For payroll please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We still aim to update you with all relevant information and will continue to try and offer all the services we can, but many of our team will not be in the office so please contact your usual director/financial advisor via email or send to email@example.com
This is our preferred method of communication but if you are unable to use email we will be answering calls to take messages as best we can, but response rates will be much slower. Incoming post will not be dealt with regularly, so email really is the best way of communicating with us.
We appreciate that many of you will have queries on how the available support works and the best way to obtain this is to keep looking at our website and social media for any updates.
We still do not have full details on how the furloughing scheme will work or support available for self-employed. However early indications are that the refunds from furloughing could take up to the end of April to come through.
We will continue to keep you up to date with any further changes and aim to reopen as soon as we can.

We have now instigated working from home for a large proportion of our team and if required to close our offices by the government we would be able to continue to service our clients. We are trying our best to keep you informed of all changes that will affect you and any support or help available.
We are also able to assist in some areas such as
- helping to produce forecasts to obtain loans under the above scheme
- helping explain the complex rules around SSP or other employment matters such as layoff, enforced annual leave or redundancy
- helping with the pay requirements for self-isolation cases
- helping to obtain time to pay from HMRC
- considering changing your year end to smooth the effects on your accounts/tax liabilities
Please get in touch with your usual contact if you require any assistance. Response times may be slightly slower than usual due to numbers working from home.

You will be aware from news reports of the current threat of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
At Simpson Wood we are applying the recommended health and hygiene practices to all our activities. We are limiting our own travel to essential journeys and where possible conducting meetings online or by phone and avoiding large gatherings. Our people have also been advised to avoid physical contact such as shaking hands.
If you have travelled to the UK from the areas at risk in the last 14 days or returned from Italy since the 9th March then to protect yourself and others please do not enter Simpson Wood’s offices, even if you do not have symptoms.
Also, if you have either a new persistent cough or a temperature, please do not come to our offices.
Whilst the number of confirmed cases so far in the UK remains low we will continue to monitor the situation whilst having contingencies in place which gives staff the ability to work from home. This will enable us to continue to support our clients should the situation change. It should be noted that visits to clients premises may be affected or delayed if there is a potential risk from our team entering clients premises.
All businesses as a whole will be affected and like everyone we hope the situation improves but in the meantime plans are in place for our people and the business is prepared to adjust should it have to.
